Package Testing

What We Test: AMERICAN TESTING LABORATORY provides essential package testing services for all types of product packaging - from shipping crates to child resistant packaging. We have the expertise and capabilities to test the effects of many types of physical and environmental scenarios on products inside the packaging as well as the packaging itself. Our ISO certified package testing services certify your packaging as compliant with ASTM, DOT and other industry compliance standards. What We Test For: • Drop • Shock • Bounce • Child Resistant Packaging • Environmental Stress Cracking • Humidity • Low Temperature • High Temperature • Shelf Life • Resistance to Solvents • Rub • Peel Strength • Package Integrity • Stacking (Palletized) • Tensile • Transportation Effects Using Simulated Vehicle Motion (including Vibration)

Vibration Testing

AMERICAN TESTING LABORATORY performs vibration testing services for electronic components and end use products for the defense, automotive, military, aerospace, commercial and government agencies. Testing is confidential and can be conducted according to the client's requirements, or to Military standards such as 202, 331, 750, 810 and 883, as well as GSA, ASTM, ISTA, TAPPI, BIFMA, ANSI, private industry and government standards.
What We Use For Vibration Testing:
The Ling Electronics Model B335 Vibration Machine can subject test samples to vibrations of up to 18,000 force pounds on up to three axes. The Truck Bed Simulator closely mimics the movement of delivery vehicles, accurately measures stress on a package and its contents.
•Resonance, search, track and dwell •Sine swept •Sine on random •Random on random •Sine and random on random •Earthquake

Environmental Testing

American Testing Laboratory is staffed with degreed engineers and technicians whose backgrounds include over 40 years of testing for leading manufacturers worldwide. Using state-of-the-art test and data gathering equipment, ATL's chambers simulate various controlled environmental conditions found throughout the world. Shelf-life studies for long term storage at various temperatures and humidity conditions are simulated in the many chambers available for testing. Instruments placed within packages and shipping containers retrieve and record internal temperatures, thereby documenting exactly how much punishment products can withstand in the storage and shipping process.
